  • Rome, Italy

Honestly speaking, I didn't quite like Milan. Nothing but a chiq city which I reckon it's only for people who are rich enough like David and Victoria Beckham. The city is just a fashionista's heaven but not very tourist friendly looking at the fact that I don't feel safe while I am in Milan and I don't like the feel of Milanese. Sorry! Lake Como might be very nice but it's just not as nice as many other places I have seen.

Enough said. I choosed to take the plane from Milan to Rome. At first I was looking at to take the train but a train ticket from Milan to Rome stopping by Modena is like 69 euros and a jet ride from Milan to Rome is like 19 euros. Very tempted to stop by Modena, the home of world's best auto makers... Lamborghini... Ferrari.. Ducati... I have to give it a miss this time as I am in a hurry... I only got like 3 days left in my trip. And so I moved on with 19 euros with EasyJet.

The Romans are the most creative people on earth! I swear by the Roman gods! Rome has the best collection of old old Roman Empire buildings and from arriving in the airport was a WHOW until I left Rome 4 days later. Every single corner of Rome has either a old symbolic building else there will be a naked Roman godess statue welcoming you. It's that true.. I wish they're real tho! Naked chicks... awesome, biatch!

I have no idea why... My euro trip started together with the Rome International Marathon. Tonnes and tonnes of people are in the city and the city is full of tourists and runners. When I was in Stockholm, it was also Stockholm International Marathon. When I was in London, it was London International Marathon. Is this hinting something to me? Asking me to run and keep fit? I really wonder. But everytime it fails... As every single time I was sitting by the cafe havin my local Italian / English / Swedish beer that I can find. Trojans ran past in Italy... Vikings in Sweden and Red Telephone Booth ran past in London... Who give a damn?

I was roaming around the city of Rome. Nice places which is not very difficult to walk around and not very far from anywhere. Walked from the hostel to the central, 15 mins... Central to Colosseum, 15 mins... Colosseum to Trevi Fountain, 20 mins.. Everything is within walking distance and it's so great.. And the weather is a plus. Nice cool weather to walk.

The Colosseum was majestically standing strong although parts of it has collapsed. The ruins next to it was all quite interesting and I liked the white museum building which suddenly came blank in my mind and I would scratch my head to remember the name. But of all, the most famous Trevi Fountain is my favourite. Beautiful and stunning! I went there 5 times in my 4 days trip and every single time, I went there with a WHOW.. It never failed to amaze me and never failed to catch my eyes.  I wished I can go back there again.

Never in my life I see a little fountain like that surrounded by so many people and never in my life sees a monument which has been snapped on camera so many times! Seriously! There is like hundreds of snaps every single second! And of course, the wishing part... I was told to throw a coin over the shoulder and wish for your return. Iwas abit greedy.. I made some other wish and I end up throwing like 5 coins for 5 wishes. The last wish is wishing all my wish come true.. How cool is that? Huh!

Other than that, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps are all cool. I love Rome. I really do. But by the time I start speaking in Italian, that's the time I am about to go to the airport. The Romans are nice people compared to the Milanese. Apparently 4 days in Rome also stuffed me up with pasta, pizza and also risotto.. All those Italian food. I am not just doing pilgrimage as a Catholic to Vatican City, I am also doing a pilgrimage to the Land of Pizza and Pasta.. And they taste so much better. Even a Margeritha Pizza with just tomato base and cheese is tastier than the norm.

@Cyril Dason - I am sure you can too, one day! Maybe your honeymoon with Amiey? Choose somewhere nice.. Air Asia now fly KL - London and it's not that expansive. Let me know if you ever plan to come. I shall bring you around!
